2:d of January 12 000 hunters entered our Swedish forests to kill off 10% of the total wolf population in Sweden. 27 out of 210 were to be killed. In the end, 28 were killed a large number of them were alpha wolves and in one case they killed of the both alphas of a pack.
Why did this outrageous hunt took place was because the Swedish Government decided to "increase the popularity of wolves amongst the locals who live with wolf packs close by".
As a Swedish Citizen I am ashamed that my own country treat the wolves like this.
